Air India Cadet Pilot Program

Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 Fleet

The Air India Cadet Pilot Programme is designed for aspiring pilots with no prior flying experience. The program provides a structured pathway covering Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training and aircraft type rating.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Indian citizen or OCI
  • Age: 18–30 years
  • High School Education Certificate (National Institute of Open Schooling is also accepted) with 60% in 10 + 2 including 60% marks in each of the following subjects English, Mathematics & Physics
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • DGCA Class 1 Medical clearance required before starting flight training

Selection Process

  1. Online application
  2. Technical Evaluation: Includes numerical reasoning, critical thinking, spatial awareness, motor skills, and ability to perform under pressure.
  3. Non-Technical Evaluation: Includes group discussion, collaboration and panel interviews.
  4. Successful candidates are selected for the Cadet Pilot Programme.

Training Process

  1. Ground School training
  2. Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training
  3. Commercial Pilot Licence Completion & Conversion
  4. Type Rating Training
  5. Completion of required training and assessments
  6. Successful cadets may receive an employment offer to join a group airline as a Trainee Pilot.
Important Note: The progression toward a Trainee Pilot role and subsequent employment is subject to successful completion of all training phases, assessments, and Air India's operational guidelines and requirements.
